RACE REPORT – ZONA CENTRO SUD – RD#3 – ISCARO

The Rotax Max Challenge Kartodrome Iscaro after a year of absence, the occasion is the "Coppa Città di Chianche" traditional agonistic event of spring organized by the Iscaro family on the Irpino circuit. Two wonderful sunny days have certainly made the presence and participation of drivers and enthusiasts even more enjoyable, who, as always, follow their Beniamini. The Race Direction was entrusted to the Director Luca Cardano coming from Pavia, which well assisted by experts commissioners has ensured the smooth running of the races.

So, Zone 2 RMCI also stores its third stage which, as it developed, returns some confirmations but also some good news. Let's go see what the race news tells us starting, as usual, from the category Mini Rotax that also this weekend presented itself with a discreet number of participants confirming a positive growth trend of participants. During the six Saturday FP shifts we witnessed a continuous alternation of leadership. None of the pilots involved seemed to be able to impress their stamp on the board. This is how it was recorded in the warm up, but in qualifying the determination and experience of Nicola Murano (Parolin), which already leads the general classification, which stops the chronometer on 39:414. So it's his pole position followed by Bruno D’Alelio (EKS-GCRacing85) only 30 thousandths and under10 Raul Capuozzo on Birelart at 75 thousandths. To complete the second row of starting grid we find Lorenzo Bruno (C Leclerc-Laudato Racing) followed by Giannatiempo, Marano, Calandro, Trivisonno and Fantasia. At the start of race 1 the positions are maintained by almost all the drivers but Capuozzo and immediately very determined not to remain in the third position to look and goes hunting of D’Alelio, passing it to the second lap and then for the whole test remains very close and threatening to the leader Marano without being able to overcome it. D’Alelio, who at this stage appeared not able to confirm the second position obtained in qualifying, on the sixth lap also suffers the attack of Giannatiempo that leads to third position. Giro after lap the latter approaches the pair of heads that in some fringenti are engaged, and also Lorenzo Bruno manages to approach D’Alelio without being able to impress him. Then on the finish line come in the order Calandro, Marano and Trivisonno while Fantasia is forced to retire. In race 2, the start is still good for Murano, followed by Giannatiempo who takes advantage of the internal line while Capuozzo is in third position but already during the first round with a nice overtaking goes to take back the second square, while a few meters further back a slight contact and a certain bagarre creates problems to Giannatiempo and D’Alelio that are seen overwhelmed by Bruno. It forms almost immediately a pair in the head (Murano-Capuozzo) and to over a second follows a trio (Bruno-Giannatiempo-D’Alelio) and further back Calandro who tries to return on the three. It approximates the end of the race and the third party leans with Bruno who approaches the pair of head and D’Alelio who still loses ground until in sight of the finish line is exceeded by Calandro. In Max. There were no great results, in the sense that the positions always appeared very stable. Already in qualifying Vincenzo Spina (Tonikart-GCRacing85) got a good pole with the time of 36:998 only max to descend under the 37 second wall. To follow Edoardo Picardi (Birelart-Laudato Racing) 37:165 Francesco Perillo (TopKart) that pays a delay of about four tenths. At the start of race 1 part well Spina that maintains class leadership, follow in the order Picardi and Perillo. The positions will remain unchanged for the whole test in fact Spina thanks to a performance consistency on the lap sees increase its advantage on Picardi while Perillo rather unfortunate comes out of track and is forced to withdraw. In race two the news does not change much: he is still the leader of General Vincenzo Spina to dictate the rhythm that leads him to conquer also race two with a good advantage on Picardi while Perillo is still forced to retire for a technical problem.

The DD recorded the return to competitions Tiziano Emanuele Arena (Birelart) followed by Team Carmine Iscaro. The Saturday dedicated to the tests has characterized a substantial balance between the contenders although Francesco Palladino (Birelart) gave the feeling of having a greater performance constancy especially on long run. In a situation of this type it might be important to get the pole and, precisely in this regard the qualification was important. The pole is conquered by Francesco Palladino in the time of 36:303 followed by Arena just over a tenth and the leader of the general Kevin German (EKS GCRacing85) 211 thousandths. At the start of race 1 Palladino puts a good start immediately conquering a few meters of margin already in the first turns followed by Arena and German. The latter already manages on the first lap to take the second position not to leave it anymore. Meanwhile Palladino confirms the step superiority shown in the tests and round after round increases the advantage. Also German, in mid-race, manages to put a margin of relative safety. At the end of the 20 rounds to win is Palladino, follows German and Arena. In race two do not change things much....... once again part good Palladino who takes after German while Arena loses positions and on the third lap retreats for technical problem. The race develops with Palladino who in the 25 laps previewed has seen growing its advantage towards German in a constant manner on the leader of the general.

In the DD2 Masters is Marco Valestra to conquer the class pole by adjusting Maximilian Cioffi for only 60 thousandths. The two colour holders of the Laudato Racing Team are really very close in terms of performance but during race 1, Valestra is exposed the black flag with orange disc that obliges him to abandon the test for safety reasons, in fact the leader of the general DDM class has the rear bumper that is about to break off. So at 8 laps from the word Cioffi finds himself in the head and goes to win the test. In race 2 Valestra departs in the tail to the group but towards half race it leads to Cioffi that however is not willing to give way without fighting. From here comes a nice duel with the Sorrentine pilot who tries to pass while the always tenacious pilot of Agerola defends himself in an extraordinary way and takes home the Darby of the Sorrento Peninsula. Cioffi with this double success takes you to second position in general only 10 points from Marco Valestra.

The third test of the Challenge between confirmations and novelties ends here, preparing the ground for the Rd4 that is scheduled to Sarno for May 5. Meanwhile, the International Circuit of Naples is usually preparing for the great appointments to host this challenge test with a look at the open rotax race scheduled for September 15 and, apologize if it is little, at the Grand Final 2024.
