It is the month of the "new entry" in the Rotax Max Challenge Italia calendars: after Viterbo, which debuted in the series last May, came the turn of the Cremona Circuit, for the round 4 of the North area.
The state-of-the-art facilities of the renewed plant have framed beautiful competitions, all held on dry track conditions and with different surprises and twists to make everything more adrenaline.
Starting among the young people of Rotax Mini, we had an unusual first row, with Evan Moussavi, in force to the LGK team, which won a great pole position, escorted by Enrique Manuel Calendi (MKC) in second position, while the "big" are all delayed, with De Grandi taking fifth, Lavazza ’e eighth and Berceij even at the bottom of the group. At the start of race-1, Moussavi must immediately give way to Calendi, who takes the leadership of the race. Things do not proceed well for poleman, which after some contacts at round 2, slips in the back. Paolo De Grandi (Krono Racing) climbs so in second position, and joins Calendi to attempt a small escape. On the fourth lap, De Grandi passes Calendi at the exit of the last bend and takes the first position. In the meantime, the Berceij (Munaretto Performance) rebounds, which passes Giovanni Pistore (Drake Motorsport) and takes the P4. De Grandi resists the final assault of Calendi and goes to win, in front of Calendi and the team mate Lavazza. In race-2 De Grandi, he immediately held the race, while Berceij became insidious on Calendi, but while studying where to attack, Lavazza brought an attack on Berceij himself. The two exchange the position several times, and this favors the escape of the first two. Calendi, however, fails to carry a concrete attack on De Grandi, who wins right on the MKC driver, with Lavazza third that in the last laps had closed the gap with the fugitives, dragging behind also Berceij, Pistore and Mousavi. The ranking of this Rotax Mini is always done
For the Junior, another Sunday in great dust for Kiko Fracassi (Infinity), who won the pole with a great time, in front of Brando Badoni (IRT Engines) and Matteo Natino (MKC). In race-1 Fracassi starts immediately well and sets the usual escape, with Diego Triggianese (FooDrivers) that fits in second position, with Matteo Montrone passing third. Lost Badoni positions, which shows instead fourth. The group proceeds compact, with Fracassi which gradually increases its advantage to carry it well beyond the second. On the fifth lap, Badoni overrides Montrone and starts to insidiate Triggianese, and after a few turns of study, he overtakes it at lap 10. Badoni seems in a soap bubble, and with fast repetition turns it also reaches Fracassi, but now it is too late to make a surprise. Victory then for Fracassi, in front of the Energy of Badoni and Triggianese. Race-2 still conditioned by a bad start of Badoni, while Natino also loses ground on the first lap following numerous contacts. Fracassi immediately stretches on trackers, a group composed of Triggianese, Montrone, Badoni and the leader of the North Lorenzo Giaquinto (MKC), never really competitive on this track. At the eleventh round, Badoni surpasses both Montrone and Triggianese, while Natino also reaches the group of trackers. Fracassi wins on Badoni, but the fight for the third place leaves everyone with a suspended breath: at the last bend Natino tries the assault on Triggianese, but all ends with various contacts, which lead Natino in the back. The third
Rotax Max who sees the pole position for Elia Pappacena (MKC), who is running to become the champion of the category, ahead of Andrea Perduca and Pietro Pons, both LKA drivers. Close the top-5 the colour holders of the Infinity team, Giacomo Marchioro (leader of the North Zone) and Nicola Guerra. At the end of the traffic lights it takes very well the first row, while it loses Pons positions, to the advantage of War and Marchioro. On the second lap Marchioro passed War, which will then be successfully attacked by Pons. Pappacena and Perduca stretch on the group, with Pons attacking Marchioro for the P3. Pappacena, in the final race, digs a groove between himself and Perduca that allows him to win in looseness, while Pons closes in third place. Starting grid of race-2 basically identical to that of race-1, with Perduca who at the start commits a mistake that leads him to anticipate the departure and for this will receive a penalty of 10" at the end of the race. Pappacena and Pons pass Perduca at the end of the first round, but this time the escape of Pappacena is hindered by Pons, who seems to have a better step. On the seventh lap Pons surpasses Pappacena and leads to the command, while Marchioro, after a beautiful comeback, passes Perduca to take third place. Pons wins in front of Pappacena and Marchioro, while the penalty of Perduca brings Bernardi (Krono) and Alessandro Pedini (Infinity) to close the top-5. With the second season success, Pons also takes the first position of the North Zone ranking.
Fight on the thread of the thousandths in Rotax DD2, with Leonardo Baccaglini (Drake Motorsport) who won the pole position for only 5 thousandths on Gregorio Bertocco (MKC). In the second row Daniel Giliberti and Nicola Felappi, while the leader of the Rosina classification does not appear in very formidable, which only takes sixth. In race-1, Baccaglini starts well and precedes Giliberti and Bertocco. At the narrow hairpin, Bertocco makes a very spectacular overtaking on Giliberti to take to P2, but thus helping Baccaglini take a slight advantage. On the fifth lap, Nicola Felappi attacked Giliberti in turn 4, taking to third place. The positions remain unchanged, even if Bertocco, in the final race, arrives to insidiate Baccaglini but goes to win for the second time in season. In race-2, Bertocco immediately succeeds in overcoming Baccaglini, who will be successfully attacked by Nicola Felappi (Munaretto Performance). On the fifth lap continues the drop of Baccaglini, which loses the third place to the advantage of a reassembly Rosina (54SC). The top positions remain unchanged until the end, with Bertocco winning for the second time in season and adding the leadership of the North area, in front of a great Felappi and Michaele Rosina. In the Masters success in race-1 for Federico Rossi (54SC), this time of measurement on Domenico Palumbo (Fuma Racing), while the same Rossi is excluded from race-2 for underweight, thus giving the victory to Alessandro Tosi (MKC).
