ROTAX MAX CHALLENGE ITALIA – ROUND 4 – ZONA 2 – CENTRO SUD
By now we're on the boa lap, the fourth round of downtown-south area goes on the archive. On the track Italy the challenge between the drivers participating in our Marca Trophy, the occasion was the 6^ Cup City of Castel Volturno. After a year of forced stop the Challenge Rotax returns to the adjacent circuit of the Nabi Lakes, a splendid tourist and landscape reality a few kilometers from the mouth of the Volturno. Return with novelty: in fact the track has been completely renewed and modified so it has been absolutely to interpret for many of the conductors. Helio Cerullo, patron of the plant, with pride and availability was splendid guest of the event.
Competition Chronicle.
Many had imagined that the Rd4 could already give reliable projections for the final results but, as often happens in motorsport, the forecasts are made to be denied and therefore continues to reign uncertainty and alternation in the high positions of the various rankings.
In the Mini continues the duel between Gabriele Giannatiempo (Charls Leclerc) and Pietro Esposito (CRG). The latter won the first place in the two races also thanks to the decisions of the race management that, rightly, does not make discounts on the respect of the procedures of departure and sanctions every driver who does not respect them. Giannatiempo keeps the head of the general but the advantage is thinned and the final result remains in balance. It will be a beautiful fight until the end with the two riders, who run from private, to contend with others (until for this race) the final result.
In the Junior category, Vincenzo Spina (BirelArt) Karting Club Tufo, which makes full loot and consolidates the primacy in the general classification.
Max has seen protagonists Kevin German (Kart Republic) and Daniele Sessa (Tonykart) that won respectively Race 1 and Race 2. For record, it must be noted that German of KCT had given the feeling of a slight superiority during the whole weekend conquering also pole but a chain jump penalized him in race 2 making him lose the first position held at the time of the mechanical trouble. Sessa took advantage of it to draw the day's account and stay at the top of the general category.
In the DD2 they faced with the usual grinta the protagonists of category of zone, Francesco Palladino (Charls Leclerc) after conquering the pole thanks to a good qualification wins with authoritativeness race 1 succeeding to keep behind Michele Candela (BirelArt). In race 2 the duel becomes more tightened and Candela leads for half race heeled by Palladino, but a contact of competition puts out the latter that will have to settle for the second place. Candela then wins race 2. In the general stays in the head of Palladino but the games are anything but closed. In the class DD2 Masters the unthinkable occurs, none of the riders can confirm in race 2 what has conquered in race 1, is determined a turn of positions that makes the competition even more exciting and more uncertain the final result. In the meantime we record, with special mention, the first victory for 2021 of Max Cioffi (BirelArt) that wins very convincingly Race 2 and ranks second in race 1. Marco Valestra (Kubica) lands on a weekend "no": it fails to go beyond a third and a fourth place, stumbles in an important penalty in race 2 for irregular departure, loses the head of the general, in short a day to forget despite the good times made to mark in the free practices. Joy Gregorio Rago (BirelArt) that thanks to a victory in race 1 (after having conquered the pole), does not go beyond the third place in race 2 (also penalized by the direction of race), but this does not prevent him from climbing the first place of the general who sees the first three drivers of the Team Laudato Racing. Andrea Scafuro (BirelArt), in his year of debut in category, shows that he is not willing to play a marginal role in the fight against primacy by conquering the second step of the podium. He received the compliments he deserved from his team (Score Corse).
Now the goal moves to the next competition that is scheduled for the 4th of July, you return to the circuit of Casaluce after the change of program communicated last week.
