Two days of good weather, albeit with temperatures not quite springy, act as a perfect frame for the round #1 of the Rotax Max Challenge Italia 2021 for the Northern group, which saw a good turn of drivers and races fought to the last centimeters of track.
GARA CRONACA
The Mini Rotax sees the debut of the new race format, characterized, as in other national trophies Rotax, from the assignment, starting from Saturday morning, of the "lottery engine". The very close gaps found both in test and in race demonstrate the effectiveness of the new format, which aims to put in the foreground the driving skills of the riders, in view of the passage to the upper classes of the trophy. The pole position is the Swiss Karel Staut (KartshopCH), which for only 13 thousandths of a second has the best on Brando Badoni (Foodrivers). Third took Lorenzo Lanzara with his Parolin, less than 1/10 from the pole position. In race-1 Staut starts regularly, while it is rather unhappy the departure of Badoni, which parades in the fourth square, preceded also by Matteo Berruti (Honolu Racing). The trail, on the long straight of Adria, helps Badoni to return to the third position, while the fight between Staut and Lanzara lights up for the leadership, with the latter who manages to put the wheels in front of the Swiss driver, who, however, is able to respond blow-up. He then wins Staut, on Lanzara and Badoni. In race-2 departs badly Lorenzo Lanzara, who loses the p2 in favor of Badoni. On lap 4 is Matteo Berruti to strike a good attack on Lorenzo Lanzara, who answers shortly after. Badoni's attack on Staut also arrives, but, as in race-1, it always reacts successfully to the various attempts to overtake. On the last lap, a small error of Lanzara helps Matteo Berruti to conquer the third step of the podium, while the victory is still of Staut who prays
16 drivers on the way of the Rotax Junior for the opening round, and is Leonardo Baccaglini (Ktre Race) to win the pole position aboard his Kosmic, preceding the LKA duo formed by the titan Giacomo Marchioro and the 2020 champion Kiko Fracassi. In fourth position he took the fast driver of Mozambique Ghazi Moteklar (Munaretto Performance), ahead of Martino Zorgno. In race-1 Giacomo Marchioro is the author of a bad start from the first row, which sees him falling in sixth square, while in the head of the race try to make the difference Baccaglini and Fracassi. For the fourth position we witness a short-range battle between Martino Zorgno and Giacomo Marchioro, with the driver of San Marino who has the best despite an exemplary defense of the Ktre Race driver. In the middle of the race, Moteklar is the most fit driver, and in fast turns it reaches and passes the duo of head, then going to win with half a second advantage on Baccaglini and Fracassi. Even more compelling and uncertain race-2, where we find Nic Trobec catapulted in second position at the expense of an uneffective start of Leo Baccaglini, which slips in P5. The feast of Trobec lasts, however, little, in fact Ghazi Moteklar will recover the leadership, followed by the Tonykarts of Fracassi and Marchioro. Great fight for the head of the race, with Fracassi attacking Moteklar successfully in mid-race. The latter, however, responds immediately and takes again to the head. Baccaglini adds to the trio of the head, which will try in the final of the race to attack Marchioro, which however responds blow on a stroke preserving
The Rotax Max, with 24 drivers at the start, is definitely the most fierce category of the weekend. In qualifying, it is a rookie to get the pole position with a lot of track record: Matteo Pianezzola precedes a few thousandths the teammate of 54SC Michaele Rosina. In the second row Andrea Giudice (Foodrivers), flanked by Michele Chizzali. At the start of race-1, Matteo Pianezzola, takes badly from the pole position; Michaele Rosina takes the lead but his departure is too good for the judges, who inflict him 10" penalty to be served at the end of the race. Formidable departure for Luca Zamburlini, who from the third row immediately takes to the third place, to fight with Chizzali, but will be overtaken shortly after. A frightening incident in the middle of the first lap between Matteo Pianezzola, Alessandro Tecchio and Marco Perina will lead to the continuation of the race, for a few laps, in regime of "slow". No serious consequences for drivers. Redistribution, Rosina is able to take a discreet margin, Zamburlini and Chizzali throw themselves at the chase, while witnessing a beautiful fight between the duo Foodrivers Forenzi-Giudice and Nicola Guerra (LKA). War attacks do not go well, however, as Leonardo Tiozzo (Drake Motorsport) will take the position, while Andrea Giudice, after several unsuccessful attempts, takes the p4 on the teammate. First cut the finish line Rosina, but the penalty of 10" gives the victory to Luca Zamburlini (LKA Racing), while 5" seconds of penalty inflicted to Michele Chizzali for irregular position of the
Pole position with track record for the 2018 and 2019 Rotax DD2 Champion Cristian Trolese (Ktre Race), ahead of Nicola Felappi (Honolu Racing) to Alessandro Fardin (54SC). In race-1, the poleman, who loses positions, while Fardin is in charge in the first races, followed by Patrik Marchetto (FD Motors). Shortly engraved on the dry lap, but formidable in the race pass, Luca Munaretto (Munaretto Performance) – defending champion – begins a march that will lead him to the command and, subsequently, to stretch on the group. Trolese resumes the P2, but a penalty of 5" leaves the square of honor in Fardin. In race-2 the start of Munaretto is lightning, which immediately takes a good margin on the trackers. Cristian Trolese, who, after accusing an initial detachment, also accomplices the start from the second row, recovers decimino on the tenth and at the last lap takes a shot of attack. Munaretto however manages to resist well, bringing home the first double of the season. The podium is completed by Alessandro Fardin, while to signal the great race of Nicola Felappi (Honolu), which, starting from the bottom grid, recovers up close to the podium. In the DD2 Master pleasant return to the races of Lorenzo Landi (LGK Kart&GO), which marks a crushing doublet, sometimes entering into the fight with younger opponents. Alessando Tosi e Marco Luzzi comletano il podio di categoria, While Luca Pizzolato wins both the heats of the Gentlman classification, in front, in both races, to Bruno Rega.
