ROTAX MAX CHALLENGE ITALIA – ZONA CENTRO SUD – RD2

At CASALUCE, we're totally in touch with RIPARTENCE.

Health protocols say: "ports closed to the public, maximum three technicians following the pilot"; the temperature is over 35° already from the early hours of the morning, mandatory masks in the indoor spaces and in case of assemblies. But when the commissioners give the green flag, the goal is only one, that always: win. This is the strong feeling that one feels by observing the workers in the paddock and in pre-grid, tension, determination and desire to return to compete. Agonism and grit return to be the protagonists after a season of fear. And to seal the return to the races there is the sparkling wine on the podium, the signal of the desire for normality.

In this frame, with the climate of great occasions, he competed for Round2 RMCI South Center Zone. Compared to pilots looking for revenge or confirmation after the February Rd1, it seems a century passed for the tension that breaks from the eyes of the protagonists.

Let's start with the little ones, four young drivers go to get company to Vincenzo Spina (Mini) and are: Francesco Soria (Mini) Gabriele Giannatiempo (Micro EL) Nicola Murano (Micro EL) and Sebastiano Gerardo Procida (Micro EL). The five compete together but for distinct categories and classifications. Spina in qualifying scores a good time at the 1st round and so he assures the pole but in race1 stumbles in a disqualification that allows Soria to take his first victory, in race2 the hierarchies are restored: Push P1, Soria P2. For the smallest of the Micro wins both Murano races while the other two alternate to second and third place.

In Rotax Max on track Daniele Sessa and Kevin German. The two are approached in the ranks of the area, but Sessa, since the free practice on Saturday, demonstrates to have more, during the qualifying and races confirms the feeling, full boot for him.

The DD2 Masters confirms a substantial balance between the two contenders, Marco Valestra and Gregorio Rago. The two split the loot by winning a race each. Valestra, who in qualifying and in competition1 appeared faster, in race2 he prejudiced his performance because of a buffering in departure that cost him 5’’’’’ penalty. Also Water and Rega alternating on the lower step of the podium in race1 and race2.

In DD we witness the most beautiful duel of the day. But let's go by order: already during the free trials there has been a substantial balance, with minimal chronometric differences. But in qualifying tests Francesco Palladino takes his attack and takes the pole only 3 laps and, in the time of 52,093, lowers, of three tenths, the record, which he held since 2018. In race1 Arena, which departed from box 2, remains involved in the fight of the drivers following losing contact from Palladino who, with serenity, wins race1 with over 4 seconds of advantage. Gara2: Arena is not surprised by the good departure of Palladino and manages to catch the trail immediately, some attempt to overtake that takes place on the third lap, but Palladino is not there and responds immediately, after three turns back to the head. After a few laps, try again and, at the detachment of the "Bar", pass but Palladino, showing a discreet self control crosses and immediately passes. Still some scaramuccia but at 5 laps from the end a new attack, this time the attempt to cross does not go well and Arena takes the head with a certain decision. Palladino remains attached to him and two turns from the end, always to the detached of the "Bar" enters with decision inside and flanks Arena that tries to resist but, of trade, Palladino brings him on the dirt: finished race.

With this double Francesco Palladino reaches Tiziano Emanuele Arena in the top of the Zone ranking with 214 points.

Both drivers are part of the Team Laudato Racing is his patron Francesco Laudato does not hide its satisfaction for the show seen on the track. It also demonstrates all its enthusiasm for the growth of the movement in category Mini and Micro EL.
