RACE REPORT- RMCI 2026 ZONA CENTRO-SUD – RD.1- BATTIPAGLIA

RMCI Centro Sud – RACE REPORT

The Rd#1 of the Zone 2 Challenge has just ended on the Battipaglia Sele Circuit. The circuit was presented on the first appointment in perfect order, with the asphalt completely remade.

For the record we can record a discreet satisfaction for the number of pilots tested for the Rotax categories taking into account the objective difficulties encountered in 2025.

In DD2 we witnessed a convincing evidence of Massimiliano Cioffi #504 (Birel Art) that ruled Giuseppe Posillo #525 (EKS) both in qualifying and in the two races played. Posillo, both in race 1 and in race 2 managed to have a good start but then had to undergo the remonta of Cioffi.

In senior max wins a new entry of Rotax, Gioele Orazio Browseno #327 (CRG) followed by Officina 27 team.

The junior max showed up with an encouraging number of conductors. In qualifying Christian Nappi #209 (Birelart) rule Nicola Murano # 213 (Parolin), Bruno D’Alelio # 289 (EKS), follow Tommaso Palumbo #222 (Lando Norris), Sebastiano Gallo #244 (Tony Kart), Antonio Della Sala #217 (EKS) and dns Antonio Attademo # 214. In both races Nappi imposes itself despite two very not brilliant departures. Behind him we had a nice comparison ago Murano and Alelio. In the race one has the best D’Alelio then penalized for a buffering to finished race, while in race 2, after some surprises and countersorpasses, Murano takes the second position with a decided and regular overtaking that puts in crisis D’Alelio that makes a fatal off-piste for its ranking. Behind them the comparison among others sees a beautiful struggle also with some contacts.

In Mini, also thanks to a greater number of drivers on the track, we witnessed races full of twists. The qualification has seen the Sicilian driver Riccardo Vara #107 (Parolin) make score the best time for only a tenth on Diego Palamara # 128 (EKS) a bra driver but Vara undergoes a retrocession in grid for a rather banal technical irregularity. Follow Domenico Mazza # 175 (Parolin); French Carlotta #153 (CRG); Riccardo Marano #159 (BirelArt); Jacopo Grosso #195 (EvoKart); Lorenzo Cigliano #137 (Parolin); Aldo Bocchetti #158 (BirelArt); Leonardo Baldi # 125 (BirelArt).

Race 1 sees the finish in the order Mazza, Marano and French while Palamara, started in the head and attacked by Mazza, goes in the head tail and loses different positions. It must try to get back from the bottom but after a few laps it comes in contact with another driver and has to start again, finally placing in P5. Very beautiful and exciting race 2: after a series of surprises you outline a situation in the head with Mazza taking the head followed by Vara and Marano. A few turns from the end the positions seem consolidated but Marano is not there and with a series of fast laps it passes first Vara and then at the last lap goes to take the highest step of the podium. For Riccardo Marano, Irpino driver, it is the first success that demonstrates a good sports maturity.

So far the news of the races, but very important for the whole Rotax movement was the general attention received that envisions new entrances of other drivers from all over the south center.

Next race on the Kartodromo Racing Kart of Casaluce in an exact month.
