With the third and final race of the National Trophy 2024 you reach the epilogue of the season Rotax Italy.
Finally we have the names of the Italian winners and drivers who will compose Team Italia to the 25th Rotax Grand Final.
A sunny Sunday at the end of September, combined with the fabulous setting of the Franciacorta Karting Track, proved to be the ideal setting for competitions fought on the razor wire.
As regards the Rotax Mini it was the most total uncertainty to do it as a mistress, with Marc Andria Quessada (MKC) author of pole, flanked by "TurboKevin". These two drivers seemed the most in shape of the weekend, so that they reach, to inverted positions, at the top of the race-1 ranking. In the second race he is Giovanni Pistore (Drake Motorsport) to win the best start, leading to the race from start to finish, winning a key hit in the standings. Turbo Kevin concludes in P2, while the championship leader David Davoli (FooDriver) recovers until third place after a weekend that has always seen him slightly late. Third place for Davoli, which allows him to win the national title even before going down the track for race-3, which sees, this fly, Turbo Kevin triumphs in front of Davoli and Pistore. The constancy of Pistore's performance during the weekend of Franciacorta, allows him to make a leap forward in optical rankings to grab the second place absolute, that it is worth the right, along with Davoli, to represent Italy to the XXIV Rotax Grand Final. As for the Under-10 ranking, Pistore wins the title, ahead of Quessada and Baroni.
In Rotax Junior the games seemed practically already made for Lorenzo Giquinto (MKC), but the Bolzantine driver decides to make everything more electrifying with a bad qualification that only sees it in P14, while to win the pole position is the color companion and first of the runners in the standings Matteo Natino. In race-1, however, Giquinto immediately shows what pasta is made, putting to sign a departure that quickly brings it close to the first, while the bagarre is not favorable to Natino, which falls out of the top-5. He wins a fast Andrea Remy, ahead of the Hungarian Fally (Slr Racing) and Lorenzo Giquinto, who at this point is mathematically a champion. Andrea Remy will be particularly on a day of grace, as he will go to win, authoritatively, both race-2 and race-3. All accompanied by an unlucky race-2 of Matteo Natino, forced to retire for technical problems when he was firmly second, thus seeing Remy surpass him in the standing key. In race-2, Lorenzo Sammartano’s excellent performance (MKC), which closes third, scoring the top-3 for the second time in season. However, he cannot take advantage of the situation Paolo De Grandi (54 Sc), which only closes 13th after a contact. In race-3, Remy precedes the duo MKC Natino – Giquinto, with the first of the two that puts the seal on the general P3, which means according to Italian drivers eligible for the Grand Final, in which he will represent Italy together with the team-mate Giquinto.
In Rotax Max, Elia Pappacena (MKC) is present in Franciacorta substantially full score and with the title in the pocket. The pole position is in favour of Giacomo Marchioro, who precedes the outsider Matteo Montrone and Pappacena. Only thirteenth Pietro Pons (LKA), second in general, while Andrea Perduca, third in the standings, took the P5. In race-1, after some exchanges of position, Giacomo Marchioro regulates Pappacena going to take a success that relaunches him in the standings, while Pons signs a great comeback going to close the podium. Race-2 seems to follow the same script of race-1, it was not that in the middle of the race, Marchioro is forced to withdraw for electric boredom, leaving Pappacena and Pons to play the victory, with the Helvetic-italo that has the best for a few tenths of a second. Third, by surprise, a fast Alessandro Tecchio (54SC). In race-3, Elia Pappacena signs a classic solo, with Pons that precedes Tecchio for the second podium square. The strongest emotions are a few positions back, with the challenge between Perduca and Fracassi (Infinity) for the third absolute position, then won for two points by the Pavese driver of the LKA team. To be noted the furious remonta of Marchioro, which taken from the bottom, recovers up to the sixth position. Title and ticket for Elia Pappacena, which will represent the Italian team together with Pons, winner this year of the EEC title.
The DD sees in Daniel Giliberti (Infinity) the most fit driver of the weekend, that goes to take the pole in front of Francesco Palladino (Laudato Racing) and Leonardo Baccaglini. In race-1, Giliberti manages to win the race by holding the final assault of Mauro Simoni (Ktre), who, with the second place, wins the championship mathematically. The interest is to understand who will be the deputy champion, who will be entitled to the second Italian ticket. An unfortunate contact in race-1 has put out of the games Palladino, narrowing the fight between Giliberti and Baccaglini, with the first author of a further victory in race-2 and the second that gets two third places. At the start of race-3, the decisive one, Baccaglini immediately took command and set a race on the defensive, and, after a strike of Simoni promptly rejected, he obtained a victory that, accompliced the third place of Giliberti, projects him vice champion and holder of the second ticket.
In Master, Federico Rossi (54SC) wins the pole position, with Gabriele Nardi (Drake) able to impress him from the point of view of the time reconnaissance. Rossi will compete both in race-1 and in race-2, and, together with the unspoilt performance of Tosi, he is mathematically champion Dd2 Master for the second consecutive year, and will represent Italy to the 25th Grand Final in that of Sarno. To be noted, in race-3 the withdrawal of Rossi to the third round and the first victory in season of Federico Calvi.
