Atmosphere boiling at 7 Kart Lakes, not only for temperature at 36C, but also for the stake that was decidedly high, since the results of the two races played have assigned the valid points as third and fourth result for the national trophy 2024 of Rotax Max Chaellenge Italy.
In Rotax Mini stage hits already start qualifying times, where the first two, Alex Baroni (FooDrivers) and Giovanni Pistore (Drake Motorsport) are relegated to the grid respectively for impeeding and technical irregularities, giving the pole to Marc Andria Quessada (MKC Motorsport) that clicks so close to the p2 of "Turgo Kevin". At the start of race-1, however, is show-time for Alex Baroni: the small Under10 recovers in 3 laps all the positions lost cause penalty, running at the command of the race, with the debutante in Rotax Angelo Stuppia taking advantage of the fight between the championship leader Davoli and the poleman Quessada to go on the run with Baroni. Under the finish line Baroni wins with a slight margin, while a small error of Stuppia leaves him attackable by Davoli, who precedes him a few cents to the photofinish. In race-2 Baroni and Stuppia stretch immediately on the group, while Davoli finds his way with Emanuele Rosselli (Ktre), who takes the third place in the first stages of the race. Baroni has such a rhythm to be able to detach Stuppia, who is satisfied with a P2 that can be defined excellent considering that it is the first race in the category. For the P3, Davoli rule Rosselli. We then prepare for a fireworks final in that of Franciacorta, with Davoli and Baroni in full open fight for the championship.
In Junior the domination of the weekend is Lorenzo Giaquinto (MKC), who immediately clarifies his intentions from Saturday, going to take the pole position, in front of Paolo De Grandi (IRT Engines) and the team-mate Natino. In race-1 Giaquinto and Natino leave well, taking first and second position and starting a run, while the best start puts it to sign Lorenzo Coletto (LKA Racing Team) who is even third after a contact between Lorenzo Sammartano and Paolo De Grandi who put out of the games the driver Irt. While the MKC duo increases its margin, Naim Bretag (Infinity) is the author of a great recovery, which takes it to the third position, followed by the Helvetic Remy, also reassembled by half a group. Vince Giaquinto in front of Natino and Bretag, while for the fourth position, Andrea Remy has the best on Christian Romeo and Lorenzo Coletto. In race-2 it is immediately chaos at the start, with Giaquinto that deftly takes off from trouble, but Natino does not have the same fate and loses many positions. The blow puts Mattia Padoan (FD Motor), which takes second place, but is soon after reached by the new entry Romeo, which passes to the second place leaving the group to contend the last step of the podium. Gradino that is once again taken by Bretag, which precedes Padoan and De Grandi, who closes the top-5 with a race in remount. With this doublet, Lorenzo Giaquinto puts a hand on the title 2024: in Franciacorta you will need a place to graduate winner.
Elia Pappacena (MKC Motorsport) also dominates this category race Rotax Max. After taking the pole position on Saturday, he is the author of two races always conducted in the head with race rhythm of the highest level. In race-1 is Pietro Pons (LKA Racing Team) to try a chase: the two battle up to 5 laps from the term, when Pappacena creates the decisive tear for victory. Behind them, Giacomo Marchioro (Infinity) underwent the attack by Andrea Perduca (LKA Racing), who took the third position, but the problems for the Titan driver do not end here: shortly after, a contact with the team-mate Fracassi will make him back in the middle of the group, seeing compromise his chances of classification. Pappacena wins competition-1 on the LKA duo formed, in order, by Pons and Perduca. In race-2 Pappacena departs immediately, building, lap after lap, the decisive margin. Small fear at the start for a contact between Marco Bernardi (Krono) and Pietro Pons, with the Turin driver who loses some positions. Pappacena and Perduca stretch on their respective trackers, while Pons passes Fracassi to return to the podium area after the bad start of the race. The three will conclude the fairly separated race, with Pappacena who now only needs some place in the final of Franciacorta to win the third consecutive Rotax title.
As regards the DD, Mauro Simoni (Ktre) confirms his state of form, taking the pole position of measurement on Leonardo Baccaglini (Drake). In the second row two other classification names, Nicola Felappi and Michael Rosina (54SC). In race-1, after some exchanges of positions, bad luck is on Baccaglini, forced to retire for technical problems. This leaves free field to Simoni, which stretches decisively on the group. In second place, Rosina contains the final forcing of Francesco Palladino (Laudato Racing), who closes the gap in the final laps, but must settle for the third place, in front of Felappi and Giliberti, who close the top-5. In race-2, all seemingly easy for Simoni, who dominates the scene from the start, while once again Baccaglini has to deal with mechanical boredoms that prevent him from taking the lead. Michael Rosina gets another second place, while the duel between the birelarts for the last step of the podium is won by Felappi, who this time has the best on Palladino. The final of Franciacorta will see an open challenge between Simoni and Rosina for the victory of the title; but not to underestimate Baccaglini, who with a perfect weekend could again return to the games.
With regard to the DD2 Master, in race-1, Alessandro Tosi (MKC) had the best on Federico Calvi and Fabrizio Pavarini, while, in race-2, Federico Rossi (54Squadra Corse) regained the victory after the problems in race-1. Unlike other appointments, here the domain of Rossi was not so marked. There is still, after the victory in race-1, still an outbreak for Tosi in an attempt to overturn the situation in Franciacorta.
The last round of the Rotax Italia 2024 will be held at the Franciacorta Karting Track on 29 September. In the meantime, eyes also focused on the other novelty 2024, the Sarno Open, open race to all who want, for the last useful occasion, to test the Sarno track before the "practice-ban" in view of the Grand Final 2024.
