With the Cremona race the Girone Nord Rotax Max Challenge Italia 2024 ends. A race took place in conditions of a (finally) summer heat that put hard test the performances of drivers, karts and teams.
In the Mini Rotax category, the race weekend was dominated by Giovanni Pistore (Drake Motorsport). His pole position ahead of the "connect" under10 Alex Baroni (FooDrivers) and Gabriele Giribaldi (Irt). Shot by P7 David Davoli, leader of the championship. As anticipated, Pistore strongly asserts itself in both races, with Giribaldi ending behind him in race-1 followed by Baroni. In race-2, Baroni, after a good start, tries to keep the pass of Pistore: the two race together, but there is never possibility of attack for Baroni, who ends second, with Quessada third to complete a general podium dominated by the small U10.
The title fight in the Junior Rotax is restricted to Lorenzo Giaquinto and Matteo Natino, both in force to MKC Motorsport, but after qualifying are the outsiders to command, with Maij Rakusa (IPK Factory) to hit the pole ahead of Mattia Padoan and Alexander Parodi. Rakusa turns out to be a race-1 dominator, winning it with good margin on Mattia Padoan (FD Motor) and the Swiss Leopold Juch. Nik Brecelj (LKA Racing Team), after starting from the bottom of the grid for cancellation of qualifying times. The two rivals in the fight against the title run in a race no, both involved in contacts in the group center, as well as Paolo De Grandi, forced even to retire. In race-2 it is immediately escape of Rakusa, while in the first laps the show gives it Naim Bretag (Infinity), which takes second place, followed by Brecelj. The two will give life to a great duel in the final race, with the Slovenian driver to have the best.
Rotax Max ruled, unlike usual, a total uncertainty, especially after poleman Elia Pappacena undergoes a technical problem in the alignment lap that forces him to start from the center of the group. He then takes the reins of the race Tino Sidler (54Squadra Corse), followed by Matteo Montrone (MKC Motorsport), who finishes second, in front of the reassembly Kiko Fracassi, third at the finish line. Elia Pappacena, after closing the heat in fourth place, is queueed to the group for underweight, leaving the remaining places in top-5 to the two IPK, Nik Trobec and Mohmaed Alhsan. In race-2, if on the one hand we have the solitary ride of Tino Sidler towards victory, it is important to emphasize the furious rimonta of Pappacena, which recovers 25 positions from the road to conclude in top5. Also surprising is the second position of Alhsan, which precedes Kiko Fracassi. First top-5 season also for Alessandro Pedini (Infinity), while after a non brilliant start, Matteo Montrone closes in seventh place.
Leonardo Baccaglini and Mauro Simoni, respectively for the team Drake Motorsport and Ktre monopolize the first row of the DD2, as well as being in full struggle for the victory of the title. Fight for the title that gets even more intriguing after Simoni wins in race-1 on Giliberti and Baccaglini himself: with another victory concomitant to a bad result of Baccaglini, the title could be his. In race-2, on the other hand, both contenders to the title end the race. Daniel Giliberti took advantage of it, to take his first victory in the queen class, while a mechanical problem deprived of the podium Michael Rosina (54SC), leave the place of honor to teammate and first of the "Master" Federico Rossi, second absolute. Maximilian Eigl closed the podium.
