With the Jesolo race, valid as the last race of the National Trophy, the Rotax Max Challenge Italia 2023 is closed.
A season that saw the monobrand Rotax make a further step forward, with more and more drivers who chose this championship in their competitive season. The Jesolo race is no exception, with 91 drivers who took the start, divided into the 5 categories now known: the Mini, the Junior, the Max, the Dd2 and the Dd2 Masters.
Here in Jesolo are the last 3 finals that assign points for the national title 2023, that together with the races of Viterbo, Castelletto and the score accumulated in the area, decree the final ranking of the season.
In category Mini, Nik Brecelej confirmed himself as the champion of the category, going to win all three races on the weekend and making vane the residual hopes of Paolo De Grandi to bring home the title. In race-1, it fights until the last lap with the French Quessada and the small ousider "TurboKevin", while in race-2 it is Paolo De Grandi to close in second position putting in safe second place in the championship. In race-3 again domain of Brecelj, this time followed by Rakusa and De Grandi. The tricolor title 2023 goes to Brecelj, while Paolo De Grandi wins the Rotax Grand Finals 2023 in Bahrain, being first ranked among Italian drivers. The podium of the national classification 2023 is closed by Andrea Lavazza, author of a complicated weekend in that of Jesolo, as well as Giovanni Pistore, who closes fourth overall.
The Rotax Junior it was perhaps the category that reserved less suspense, when Kiko Fracassi needed a simple placing to win the title. The Venetian driver, however, to be sure of the result and make clear the hierarchies of this season, points to the success even in race-1, the vintage of a vintage that has seen it dominator. The attention, therefore, moves towards the fight for the square of honor, which means victory of the second of the two tickets for the Grand Final available to the Junior class. The suitors are 3: Brando Badoni, Lorenzo Giaquinto and Matteo Natino. Giaquito scores the pole position, and in race-1 concludes second, immediately behind Fracassi, with Natino more detached in P3. More in difficulty, however, Badoni, who closes in sixth place and does not seem to have the speed of direct opponents. In race-2 the paw that you do not expect, that of Matteo Natino, who, starting from the P3, can make the best use of the second set of new tires available, to go to win unexpectedly on Fracassi and Badoni. With Giaquinto only in P5 the games are postponed to race-3. In race-3 it is Fracassi who climbs into the chair and stretches on the group, while in large dust is the Slovenian Levar, which takes the P2 over Natino. In the final stage of the race, Lorenzo Giaquinto reached Levar, surpasses him and gets the second position, which means ticket and second place in the championship, since the direct rivals close in P7 and P9. Fracassi and Giaquinto will represent Italy at the XXIV Rotax Grand Finals.
The fight for the title was also open in Rotax Max, where Elia Pappacena sets a pole position monstre worth 3⁄4 of the result, since the direct competitors for the title, Pietro Pons and Giacomo Marchioro, take only in P6 and P19, with Matteo Pianezzola who gets instead a start in the first row that could relaunch his ambitions of final podium. In race-1 Pappacena wins with a wide margin on competition, with Nik Trobec who gets a solid P2 reassembled even after a disqualification in the post race of Riccardo Perinazzo, who deprives him of a podium result. Third is a reassembly Bernardi following a penalty of 5" for jump-start inflicted in Pons who deprives him of the third place and basically delivers the title 2023 in the hands of Elia Pappacena. Precisely Pappacena is the author of another capital performance in race-2, where he wins another time with margin on an excellent Matteo Pianezzola who has the best in the final duel with Bernardi and Perduca, who close the top4. In race-3 the emotions give her Nik Trobec, who, being also among the few who had spared the second set of new tires, reassembles 6 positions in a few turns going to take the leadership and then win of measure on Pappacena. The podium is completed by Riccardo Perinazzo, while the championship is won by Elia Pappacena (who gets the ticket to the XXIV Grand Finals) in front of Pietro Pons and Giacomo Marchioro.
The Rotax DD seemed to be the most obvious category of the weekend, with the championship that seemed to have already taken the direction of Leonardo Baccaglini. Instead, at the end of race-1, a penalty for jump-start inflicted on the winner, Baccaglini, brings Daniel Giliberti, who had also got the pole, to win the first career race in dd2, ahead of Michael Rosina and Gregorio Bertocco, rivals of Baccaglini in the race to the title. Moments of high voltage just in race-2, when at the start, Baccaglini gets out of track in curve 1, having consequently retreat. Michael Rosina takes the opportunity to win the race and question everything: if he wins in race-3 with Baccaglini outside the top-3, the title would be his. In race-3, instead, in race-3, is the luxury outsider Mauro Simoni to be the lion’s part, putting himself in the head and going to win with authority. In second position Gregorio Bertocco, while closing in P3 Rosina, who sees the title in favor of Baccaglini, but who can still say happy, as he gets the second ticket of participation in the Rotax Grand Final. The sixth position in race-3 is however sufficient to deliver the title dd2 2023 and Leonardo Baccaglini, who with Rosina will be one of the Italian alfieri of the category.
The DD2 Masters sees Federico Rossi winner of all 3 races, obtaining, after a season that has always seen him at the top and often in front of some opponents of the "under", the ticket of participation to the XXIV Grand Final.
