Race Report – South Center Zone – Rd.2

On the Italian track of Castel Volturno was held the second round of Rotax Max Challenge Italy to the south center area. A wonderful sunny Sunday welcomed the group of drivers participating in the Rotax Trophy that has been given battle ensuring often worthy performance and at no cost.

For the record, in Category Mini, Nicola Murano confirmed the moment of grace already shown in Battipaglia (Rd1) and won both today's trials. But let’s put some order in the race’s story: in the six minutes dedicated to the qualifying test Murano stops the chronometer at 37:042 establishing the new track record that Giovanni Calandro (team Calandro) held from the year. But surely the young driver Sannita tried to contend with conviction pole reaching only 59 thousandths. Follow us on the grill Procida (Scococo Corse), Giannatiempo, (Laudato Racing) and Trivison (team Calandro).

In race 1 part well Murano followed by Calandro who for the 15 laps of race tries to attack but can not reach the head closing second to only 2 tenths. Giannatiempo, starting from the fourth box, has a good point and takes the third insidiato position from Procida. Bruno tries to keep up to be able to say his but in the last laps spring leaving the most experienced riders the opportunity to play the third place.

Race 2 it is preannuncia scoppiettante, still a good departure of Murano that goes in the head while Calandro goes in the headcoda at the first corner, take advantage of all the highs that try to chase the leader but from the first turns it is evident that Murano has a good step and immediately puts margin between if and the trio that follows it constituted from Giannatiempo, Procida and Bruno. Meanwhile, from the rear, Calandro scores a series of fast laps that soon brings him close to the first but his rimonta stops third behind Giannatiempo. In the end it wins Murano that regulates Giannatiempo, Calandro, Procida, Bruno and Trivisonno.

In max the return to the competitions, after a year of stop, of Vincenzo Spina (GC racing 85), and for him it is immediately a success, in fact, conquer the pole race 1 and race 2 followed by Gerardo Casale (Laudato Racing) who tried, at the start and in the first turns, to impress the rival but with not exalting results.

The DD2 Masters he saw Massimiliano Cioffi (Laudato Racing) to win pole and both races in program with a very convincing conduct, in fact, the rider of Agerola remained clinging to the train of the younger drivers of the DD2 for a very large part of the races played demonstrating an excellent physical and technical preparation.

The DD has recorded, for the race of Castel Volturno, the return to the competitions of Daniele Sessa but the protagonist has definitely been Francesco Palladino (Laudato Racing) that already during the entire day of free practices on Saturday had given the feeling of being the driver to beat. In fact, Sunday opens with his pole followed by Titian and Arena (Laudato Racing), detached from only 34 thousandths, and from Daniele Sessa (Scococo Corse) and Kevin German (GC Racing 85).

In race 1 good start of Palladino followed by Arena, Sessa and Cioffi that goes beyond the start a uncertain German who then, at the second lap, manages to return in fourth position to keep it until the end. Later, Palladino builds a safety margin early enough while for the second square they are fighting Arena and Sessa. The driver of Avellino makes a mistake to the hairpin bend and Sessa immediately takes advantage of it positioning in P2 not to leave it until the end.

In race 2 the start again rewards Palladino that already on the first round passes with over a second on Arena that, in turn, takes advantage of a bad start of Sessa that finds fifth at the first bend. The race stabilizes almost immediately for the first two while German, third party must defend himself, successfully, from the return of Sessa.

Here is the story of a beautiful day of sport and spring sun that kissed the Castelvolturno circuit all weekend. The appointment for the third round of the RMCI zone south center and for 2 April when the group of drivers of the TdM Rotax will meet on the circuit of Morcone to give life to other battles. Once again in the field, "grint and fairness", essential ingredients for the motorsport plated Rotax and that we like so much.
