Hot and intense weekend just finished at the South Garda Karting in Lonato for the 4th round of the Rotax Max Challenge Italy in the North. The historic Bresciano plant returns to host after 3 years the Rotax Italy trophy, and does so in the best way with races rich of emotions.
Rotax Mini opened the weekend dances with Brando Badoni's pole position (Irt Engines), ahead of David Moscardi and Giovanni Pistore (Drake Motorsport). At the start is Pistore to make an impressive start, which catapults it from the third to the first position, while the opposite makes Moscardi going down to the fifth place. The departure of Pietro Lilli, who receives 10" penalty. At the end of the first round, Badoni resumes the position of leader of the race, although Pistore does not give up and tries repeated counterattacks. For the third place the fight between Paolo De Grandi (Krono) and Matteo Natino (MKC), the latter author of an opaque qualification and forced to recover. The duel between the two is resolved in favor of Natino, but allows the pair of heads to join: Badoni controls Pistore and wins race-1, third Natino. In race-2 he is Pistore starting badly, leaving Natino in second position and De Grandi in third, with Badoni always leader. At the end of the first step, Pistore successfully attacks De Grandi, who tries shortly after replicating but everything ends with a contact: Pistore is forced to retire, while the leader of the championship will receive a penalty for contact. Badoni and Natino run in pairs and so they arrive to the finish line, with Badoni getting the second double of the season and Natino taking the lead of the championship. The third place is for a reassembly Pietro Lilli (LGK), who in the final has the best on Moscardi.
On stage, for the Rotax Junior, another chapter of the Pappacena-Fracassi duel: the two, after monopolizing the first seasonal rounds, find themselves flattened in the first row, with the pole of Elia Pappacena (MKC) that is only 80 thousandths faster than the time of Kiko Fracassi. In the second row Giulia Bernardi (Krono) and Matteo Berruti (LKA Racing Team). In front of Pappacena and Giulia Bernardi, at the start of the Fracassi race. Pappacena immediately replies to Fracassi's overtaking at the second corner of the comb, returning to the head, but Fracassi reacts again, taking two turns after the leadership. The two stretch on the group, which sees in the summit Leonardo Dal Col, who crossed Bernardi, who soon after lost the position also from Berruti. Precisely Berruti seems to have a much higher pace than colleagues in the fight against the podium: on the sixth lap, Dal Col goes through to immediately take advantage and put in safe the P3. The tandem of the head continues the fight with a last attack of Pappacena at the final round, annihilated this time by Fracassi who goes to win on Elia Pappacena. Third Matteo Berruti. In race-2 Fracassi starts very well, while Pappacena has to duellare in the first laps with Berruti, which shows second. After passing the Ligurian driver, the Helvetic jumps into the pursuit of Fracassi to repropose the usual duel. In the middle of the race Pappacena parades at the command and no longer allows the rival a replica: fifth victory for him, which consolidates the leadership in the standings. The Rotax Max is as usual the most numerous category, and is Leonardo Tiozzo (Ktre Race) to win the pole position for a few thousandths on Pietro Pons (LKA Racing Team), while in the second row take the two men of the classification, Michele Chizzali and Leonardo Principalli (MKC). In race-1 we immediately witness a Pons error, which remedies a penalty for jump-start, while Tiozzo takes his head in front of Chizzali (Ktre) and Andrea Perduca (LKA). The trio seems to stretch over the rest of the group, with Chizzali that in the middle of the race the decisive attack and overtakes Tiozzo. Giacomo Marchioro (Infinity), who left in the third row, takes himself, at the last lap, in the third position to the detriment of Perduca. He then wins Chizzali, in front of Tiozzo and Marchioro. In race-2 it is Chizzali to parade in the head, but the third round arrives punctual the attack of Tiozzo, who goes to lead the race. Leonardo Principalli, who climbs Marchioro for the third place, joins the head fight. The scene hit takes place at 4 turns from the term, when Tiozzo commits a mistake that takes him out of the fight for the podium, leaving Principal leaders, who in the meantime had surpassed Chizzali. The main ones first cut the finish line, followed by Chizzali and Marchioro and thus strengthens the first position in the championship ranking, in a Rotax Max however uncertain and that has seen 4 different winners in 8 heats played so far.
The poleman of the DD2 is once again Leonardo Baccaglini (Ktre), who sees taking next to if Nicola Felappi, while Gregorio Bertocco and Alessandro Fardin complete the second row. In race-1 he departs under the command Baccaglini, with Bertocco passing in P2 and Felappi who loses positions also by Marta Bussola and Alessandro Fardin. The first two extend, with Baccaglini extending its advantage over Bertocco. Felappi, on the fifth step, manages to climb Marta Bussola to take third place. Marta Bussola will be shortly after forced to retire for the release of the rear bumper. Vince Baccaglini on Bertocco and Felappi. In race-2, Baccaglini immediately manages to create the extension, while Felappi passes Bertocco on the second lap. The positions are crystallized with Baccaglini who still wins, in front of Felappi and Bertocco. The undisputed leadership of Baccaglini also on the championship, in fact the Venetian driver is now author of a "perfect season". In the Master's ranking, Jody Lambrughi (MKC) and Emilio Pecci (54 SC) scored. The first, given the absence of the championship leader Pagliarani, is the new category leader.
The next appointment for the North Zone is imminent: in two weeks will already be the turn of round #5 to the 7 Kart lakes of Castelletto di Branduzzo.
