Last weekend was held8^ CITY OF KEYS, traditional April appointment on Kartodrome Iscaro. The race is valid as Round #2 of the Rotax Max Challenge Italia, Centro-Sud Zone.
It was a weekend characterized by absurd weather conditions, in fact on Saturday the irpino system was nurtured by cold and rain. Pilots, mechanics and track operators were very tested by these conditions, but they did not give up however trying to find the best set up of the chassis for the conditions of the track. But then Sunday morning the track went away drying up creating in the teams no few difficulties in choosing the tires to use.
For the record: in the Mini we register two new entry Giovanni Calandro and Pietro Esposito the latter already in the 2021. In qualifying Gabriele Giannatiempo proves to be comfortable on wet track and conquer the pole position adjusting Nicola Murano, Calandro and Esposito. In race 1 there are no surprises and for the 15 laps the positions do not change. In the race 2 Murano starts better and at the first bend is in the head but the pass of Giannatiempo is definitely better and after a few turns the rider cavese regains his head so as not to leave it anymore. Calandro takes advantage of the fight in the head to maintain contact with the head and to try to hang Murano that opposes a good defense. Esposito is fourth.
In the DD2 (aggregated to the masters) a beautiful duel between Ennio, Francesco Del Grosso (Scococo Corse) and Francesco Palladino returned under the Laudato Racing flag. In qualifying Del Grosso wins well the pole position followed by Giuseppe Posillo (DD2 Masters) then Palladino and Sessa. At the start of race 1, put the rain tires, Del Grosso is uncertain and the riders in external lane have the best so Posillo goes in the head followed by Sessa, Del Grosso and Palladino. We assist in a nice duel in which the Italian Masters Champion is also included Marco Valestra. After a few laps, Palladino has a better step and with a series of overtakings conquer the head, winning the resistance of Sessa, not to leave it until arrival. Second is Ennio Sessa while Del Gross is forced to retire after contact with Valestra. Among the masters Posillo rule Valestra and Gianluca Iervolino. In race 2 part well Palladino who, with a race without smears, wins the first step of the podium with a good advantage on Sessa. In the master we repeat the duel between Posillo and Valestra but does not change the order of arrival, third is Bruno Rega.
